Happy Independence Day

Me and about 500,000 of my closest friends and family went to see the fireworks yesterday. Sorry you didn't get an invite. It was hard to pick and choose who to invite and who to leave out.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day - the temperature was cool, the breeze was comfortable, we found great parking and a wonderful spot to view the fireworks. We ate a wonderful dinner at the North Market. Then made our way to the park. The people watching was wonderful too. We were lying down to watch them. I used my new camera for the pictures, and they turned out so much better than any fireworks pictures I have tried to take before. Some photo taking tips said to leave a frame of reference in the photo, so sometimes I used the Laveque tower, and sometimes I used the heads of the people in front of me. The heads make it look like I don't have a good view of the fireworks, but I did. They weren't in my way, I put them there on purpose! The fireworks looked like they were aiming right at us. And they were! Our blankets was covered with them, and a few did manage to stay into our eyes and mouths. Even the trip home was easy.

Wah - we're not going to see fireworks this year - it's TOO HOT. A lot of cities here have stopped them, too, it costs so much to put on. Love your pic, glad you had a good time!

Happy 4th of July! Sounds absolutely lovely. Living in Oz we don't, of course, celebrate the 4th. But we have Australia Day in January (which is summer here)and the fireworks are above the beautiful Swan river with hundreds of thousands of your closest friends. Too perfect...
