Ringo Round the Lake

It snowed here last night, as it did in many parts of the country.  Zeus loves playing in the snow, and going on a treasure hunt for treats. He found a waffle here, which gives a whole new meaning to frozen waffle.

Since I am snowed in, more progress has been happening on the Ringo Lake blocks. I've been adding scraps from the stash for variety, which are leaning a little bit more to the green side of greenish blue and orange side, and a little bit more patterned, but I think they still stay pretty controlled over all.

Ringo is looking marvelous! I've never made a Bonnie Hunter quilt, but I know several people who have and boy are they an undertaking with all those millions of little pieces. However, when this is over you are going to have one gorgeous quilt top! Just keep sewing! I'm over here cheering you on from the side lines. You had me laughing with Zeus and his frozen waffle...how did a frozen waffle end up there? If you guys grow waffles in the wild...I may have to consider moving there :)

I do not participate in Mystery QALs because I am a control freak. This time I watched the clues and I love the final block. I just might use it in a future quilt but with larger dimensions. 1" finished square is too small for me. So, what I am trying to say is this - You have made good progress and your blocks are lovely. You can adapt her design to suit your tastes. It does not have to be the exact same thing. Do what floats your boat.

I haven't done a Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt. She goes through the steps so quickly, I know that I'd never finish it, so I watch others like you, making beautiful quilts! Keep going, it's going to be stunning!
