Yes, that plastic is hard to sew through.. I think I did find a teflon foot (not zigzag) and stitched big stitches twice around on a straight stitch. And once I couldn't find my foot so I sewed with tissue paper between the foot and the plastic.. Somewhat successful. These turn out to be wonderful gifts though!
