Pinwheels!

Remember this post, when I tried to make pinwheel blocks, and the template was wrong? I decided to go ahead and make some blocks instead of undoing it. If I remember right, two of the blocks are done with the template as shown in the book, and two of them are reversed.  I just made the pieces, and when it became a four patch, simply twisted them around like a four patch posie until I found designs I liked.  Here's what it looks like on point.

I want to put it together to make a small quilt. Do you have ideas about how to set these?

Very pretty! Are you using sashing? You could also make some plain blocks, and add a quilting design that echoes the block designs - and make it whatever size you want.

When I make my orphan blocks, liberated quilts...I follow the liberated quilting rule: If it's too long, cut it off, if its too short, lengthen it.And my own corollary: if it doesn't fit, do something involving the above to get it to co-operate.

In liberated quilting you are not only allowed to not have your points and edges match, you are encouraged to freely not care ;)

My final thesis statement. If you can't turn blocks into quilts, make potholders and give them away for Christmas.

I agree, they are fun blocks but I haven't a clue as what to do with them.
