Santa's Workshop

Do you remember the handmade gifts I made last year? While I am sure that my gift recipients would prefer store bought items that are specifically tailored to their specifications (electronics, etc.), I really enjoyed making the gifts. And throughout the year, some of the recipients made, instead of bought, their gifts to me. I would like to think that they enjoyed doing that.

So I have decided that I am going to be making the gifts again this year. It was difficult to come up with gifts last year, and I would think that it might be slightly more difficult this year, since last year's ideas are used up. Although some gift ideas will be repeated - people can always use more ornaments, coasters, pillow cases, etc.

If you have any ideas, please let me know. But I am going to be going through my stash to see if any of the fabric has any particular ideas about what it wants to be..

Go with your heart, that is what gift-giving should be. Your recipients are about to be blessed.

Hi Shasta - it's always refreshing to visit your blog. Gifts are not an obligation so give with your heart. In a sense you are helping to teach those around you to focus on what's important (matters of the heart) and not the latest gadget. People seem to have so much these days so why try to compete with that? Alas no new ideas for what you could make - but I'll keep an eye out for you...
Cheers - Shari

Hm - I'm thinking food gifts this year. None of us can afford to do much, and this way they won't have to dust their gifts all year and I don't have to kill myself making something they might like, lol. I'm just no good at making lots of stuff....I've done it for so many years that it's worn me out!

I think hand made gifts are always good. And, most people do appreciate them (I hope)! I think it would be a good idea to take pictures of them so you (and I) can remember what we made for people in previous years.
