Decisions, Decisions

I haven't cut or sewn the remaining sashing on the Amalfi quilt yet, but my thoughts have already moved on to figuring out what I will use for the border. I will need to add an inner border to separate the busy sashing from the outer border.

As a reminder, here is what the blocks look like, although they are now put together and pressed and don't look as chaotic.

What say you?

Solid inner border, floral outer border.

Dark inner border with polka dot outer border.

Lighter inner border, polka dot outer border.

Dark inner border, lighter outer border.

Here are the same photos, smaller, so you can see them side by side to compare.

Or some other combination thereof?

What about the binding? What I don't use in the border can be used for binding.

Robin wanted to see the dark border with the floral.  It is taken in different lighting conditions, but hopefully it still gives you a good idea about how it will look.

I vote for the floral. The reminds me of a Turkish mosaic. Love it!

I vote for the floral combo. The polka dots with light inner is too wimpy. Same for the light green as outer border -- it just isn't singing the same song for me.

Your blocks are great. I personally like the first combo and how the solid teal is repeated and the darker print framing the quilt center.

I like the first option best, with the solid inner border and the dark, flower-print border on the outside. It's a fun quilt. I especially like how carefully you cut the sashing strips.

I love the floral border. What does it look like with the darker inner border? Such a pretty quilt.

I like the first option the most.

It seems like the floral is the popular choice and I tend to agree! It's going to be a beautiful quilt! :0)

Thanks so much for the extra effort of taking a photo of my suggestion of the darker inner border with the floral. I probably feel the same way as Kyle after seeing the picture. The dark doesn't enhance the floral but the repeat of the solid teal makes it stand out.
Thanks, Robin

I like the two on the right with the floral being my favorite which is a surprise because I love polka dots.
