2021: Week 38 of 15 Minutes to Stitch

The theme for this week's photo is "Someone under the age of 12". I took the lazy way out and found an older photo of Zeus in his younger days. It is a digital photo so I couldn't take a photo of it.

2021:  Week 38 of 15 Minutes to Stitch

I didn't spend any time sewing this week. There is usually a lot of debate when a quilt is finished about whether to work on scraps, work on a project closest to completion, work on a new project, etc. and I decided to avoid the debate completely by cleaning something. I went through my gift wrapping supplies and decluttered and organized them. While I was upstairs, I also picked up the sewing room. It is hard to tell how much time I spent cleaning the sewing room specifically, as I flitted from room to room, but I will give myself credit for one day.

Even though this reduces my success rate, I am happy that I was able to make progress upstairs. I bought comic book boards to help me organize my yardage fabrics.

Ah! The young Zeus! He seemed more blondy in his younger days...

Sometimes you just need to take a bit of time to clean the palette so to speak and address those things that are niggling at you when you are sewing. We've decided some weeks we are going to have to flex a bit around the challenge, part of the creative process is being open to different interpretations. Have a great weekend.

I am sure there is progress even when we are not stitching! While taking a break, or doing something else, our quilting plans are going on in the mind, we find solutions to problems and see alternatives to what we thought was the right way to go ahead.
It's a bit like 'sleeping on it' - often we make a better judgement after taking a bit of time to think about it.
