I wasn't going to participate in the Project Quilting challenge, but since it is the last one for the season, I wanted to help them finish out the year with a large turnout.
At the beginning, when I was making blocks for my Seaglass rooftops quilt, which will probably be officially called Amalfi Coast, I was only cutting the pieces for the blocks as I went along. I didn't want to cut strings if I didn't need them. But then this week, I realized I could use leftover strings to make a string project. Sew some strings and see what you want to do with them, improv style. Use up more scraps.
I then decided I could use the strings to make a quick Project Quilting challenge so that is what I did instead. I have plenty of other leftover fabric for a string project.
Instead of straight strings, which I thought might be boring for a small project, I made a log cabin. The colors aren't true on my screen in these pictures.
It is about 10" x 11 1/2".
2021: Weeks 12 of 15 Minutes to Stitch
I
spent my week making more of the teal and aqua rooftops blocks. I decided to make more blocks instead of making more rounds. I have the planned 30 blocks made now, and will start sashing them this week. I also made the Wild and Free mini quilt for the Project Quilting challenge.

Hi
Gorgeous Wild and Free Quilt...Your aqua rooftop blocks are
very pretty...have a great day!
You project makes me feel so carefree. I haven't felt that way for about a year now.
A heart inside your quilt?! SEW totally awesome!!
I love the ocean colors, and wow, what a special subtle touch to enclose the heart!
Your challenge mini turned out beautifully. The blues are so pretty. Congrats on the finish and on a great year of stitching time. A perfect score so far.
I do love blues with greens and your rooftop blocks are gorgeous. Lovely little mini, too. And I'm with you about living near water - I sometimes drive downtown to just sit and watch the MS River since it is the closest moving water near here. Duck ponds hardly count.
Inso love this...the colors remind me of one of our daughters...she likes colors like that and I love them too
Beautiful colors and your heart included within is lovely.
The colors are beautiful and the heart included within is lovely.
I love it!!! And, congratulations on your 100% participation. Woohoo!
The heart INSIDE the quilt- pure genius! I absolutely LOVE it! Thanks for joining in the PQ fun ;)
I have never seen anything like your heart inside the quilt, but it is the coolest idea!
Oh, that heart, 'tis genius. How pretty the silhouette looks against the light. Love this concept! Those blues are so pretty.
The colors and the quilting all remind me of the sea. Even a frond of sea grass in the middle!
How fun to insert a hidden heart! Lovely!
Soft and serene colors! Looks like the sea indeed, lovely!
Thank you for linking up today ;)
