Stop White Discrimination!

White is such a clean color. One that people like me have to stay away from, because by simply looking at it I might cause a stain to appear on it. But I've seen so many beautiful quilts, especially recently, that have a nice big expanse of white. It serves as such a wonderful backdrop for today's pretty colors.

I have decided to stop discriminating against whites. After all, I can now say, "I have a white quilt."

I think you are right about staring at white too long perhaps causing it to stain!!! I've given up on white clothing long ago when my life style no longer seemed to be able accommodate such a pristine shade.

But it is stunning in quilts! And the one pictured is no exception!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I like yours, and will return often!

Yup, white is sooooo dirty so easily. Sigh. I love the idea of a qhite quilt though.... maybe a wal hanging that wouldn't get handled....

I used to be afraid of using white - too easily dirty, too much contrast, but now I've given in and am very happy with the results!! Love all the white and bright quilts out there, including yours!

White with a sunburn! And it looks good,too...sort of like a blushing bride after the wedding! Now, as long as she doesn't spill her wine or find crumbs of chocolate cake, she still young and beautiful, forever ;)

Hello! I am always thinking about 'dirt' if/when I make a white quilt, as if the other colors aren't also dirty, but don't show it. 8-)) But they look so bright and fresh, don't they? 8-))

One of my favorite colors to use in a quilt - but I've also been looking at linens and greys all over blogland - I might have to break out of just using white! Love the coin quilt!

White brings out the cheery colors in a quilt. Think about all the quilts from the depression era that had white: they just made one a little bit happier when looked upon.

I like the pinks with this white but I'm one that uses very little white in my quilts ...the stain factor is certainly one reason esp. since I donate many quilts but I do have one or two special quilts that have white backgrounds.
